Lock Out Tag Out is a safety procedure used in industry and research settings to ensure that dangerous machines are properly shut off and not able to be started up again prior to the completion of maintenance or repair work.
Employees or contractors involved with operating or maintaining machinery or plant could use this course as part of an induction process or as refresher training. Where Lock out tag out is a significant element of an individual’s job role, it is recommended that this course is used as part of a blended learning approach, for example as preparation for a skills-based practical course or as a refresher of the key points.
On successful completion of this programme, learners will gain a Lock Out Tag Out certificate of completion.

- Explains isolation processes for powered equipment, including lock out tag out (LOTO) procedures.
- Describes what can go wrong without a successful isolation process.
- Summarises other steps required before starting work on powered equipment and when returning equipment to normal operations.
